I know that it's an earthly pleasure, but studying the psalms on my new leather couch from Goodwill...
feels so much better than studying the psalms on my ten and a half year old Coke-stained green canvas couch!
Okay, I really am getting some studying done while I'm caressing the leather. Beth Moore mirrors the first two verses of Psalm 127 Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city the watchmen stays alert in vain by giving us the city of Edinburgh, Scotland's motto: Nisi Dominus Frustra. Latin for Without the Lord, Frustration. As I finish my studying and begin my day of sewing and laundry, I desire the Lord to be present so that all my work be not in vain.
